Despite its name, Elderberry is actually super fresh (picture the album cover for Run DMC’s: Down with the King). Elderberry is one of the most common medicinal plants in the world, used for centuries for its believed healing effects. In Fact, in 400 BC, Hippocrates, the “Father of Modern Medicine” called the elder tree his “medicine chest”. Now, it’s used as a go-to in order to support the immune system, treat the flu, various infections, headaches and toothaches

Elderberries are grown all over the world, but the most common type of elderberry used for health and healing is native to Europe. Raw elderberries aren’t edible but when cooked they’re perfectly safe to be eaten and are mostly used to make jams, pies and wine.

Benefits of Elderberry include:

Elderberry is very prevalent in supplement form in lozenges, gummies, syrups and powders…but with mymuse it is now also finally available in ready-to-drink teas and waters – highly convenient for drinking throughout your day, be it to start your morning, to go with lunch, when you’re feeling a little under the weather or whenever you need a little tasty treat or flavor pick-me-up.

Food as medicine is something we can all get behind!
